Foghiles is a cultural project based in Semestene, a village at the center of Sardinia. On September, locals and participants gather to celebrate the Autumn Equinoce. During 8 days there are several concerts, meetings and workshops where traditional and contemporary knowledge is shared. On the last day, the 23th, a parade goes through the village, clausuring the event.
Cabidanni – New year in Sardo – it’s a date in which agricultural year ends and darkness displaces light. For that reason, the celebration manifests the end of long days. Participants, trampolieri, and Semestenesi built their own masks and costumes from seasonal plants, garbage and local materials to wear them during the parade.
